Gender Scan
A tool to scan
printed Behavior Change Communication material from a gender perspective |
|
Intellectually it is acceptable to work towards gender equality,
however it is a challenge to bring about change at the self, family
and community level. This demands focused attention and sensitization
of various levels of individuals involved in policy formation,
programme planning and implementation.
In context of health education, gender equality needs to be integrated in all Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) strategies and material. To achieve this CHETNA has developed a tool to scan BCC material from a gender perspective. This tool is a result of two and half decades of extensive work by CHETNA in the area of health communication. It includes four sections.
The tool has been field tested during various workshops and training programmes and also used to scan the available printed BCC material on reproductive and sexual health, particularly in the state of Gujarat in India. English Rs.100/- |
