CHETNA has translated and adapted The Universal Child Birth Picture Book, written by Fran P. Hosken and published in 1982 by Women's International Network News, to suit Indian languages. This book imparts complete information on male and female reproductive anatomy and physiology, pictorially explains the process of child birth from stage of conception and includes elaborate textual descriptions of the numerous illustrations throughout the book. There is also a special section of guidelines for health workers to facilate discussions on these issues at the community level. This book has a wide application at many levels, practitioners involved in community health such as trainers, donors, field workers, creche workers.
